By combining two condo units into one, a larger more functional urban living space was created that is tailored to the owner’s lifestyle. In order to enhance the visual openness of the space, corridors were framed with mirrors looking back onto the city skyline.
Sundown is an extensive remodel of a 6,000 sq ft private residence, built in the 1980s. Originally designed by well known architect, Robert Renfro, special care was taken in order to preserve the character and original design intent of the home.
Located in the historical Austin neighborhood of Hyde park, this project sought to combine the vernacular forms of gabled roofs and the modern utilization of materials such as smooth stucco and metal siding to create a unique, but timeless home.
The Tillery project is a design-build project by Hogan Architects and Development. It was completed in Q1 2023. This infill project utilizes an array of covered porch areas and larch windows to maximize the space for the inhabitants.
Due to the strict neighborhood plan and historical city requirements, the design of this private residence compliments the neighboring structures and creates intimate exterior spaces for the owners that is often difficult to find on a small urban lot.
