The Loreto project is an extensive remodel of a 1960s home located in a vibrant neighborhood in East Austin. The renovation added a second floor and expanded the living space by 750 square feet, transforming the original structure while honoring its mid-century roots.
With a focus on sustainability, the original brick was reclaimed and reused, while the landscaping creatively repurposed old cemetery fencing to serve as vine trellises. The home was also equipped with modern features such as new insulation and a metal roof, improving both comfort and energy efficiency. Expansive overhangs and shaded areas were integrated to enhance outdoor living and energy performance.
Inspired by mid-century architecture, Loreto seamlessly blends modern upgrades with the clean lines, organic materials, and nostalgic charm of the era, offering a timeless and comfortable space for contemporary living.
